ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Andrea Stenn Stryer is an author, teacher, and librarian. Her previous book was The Celestial River: Creation Tales of the Milky Way. It tells remarkable stories that the Milky Way inspired in ancient peoples whether they thought of the galaxy as a river, a road, or even spilled milk.

In her teens, she first ventured into the Rocky Mountains. Ever since, her passion for the mountains has lured her to high altitudes, which led her into the Himalayas, the site of this story.

She savors adventures with her family from trekking in Nepal and snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef to walking through penguin rookeries in the Antarctica and animal spotting in the African savanna.
